At first, Psicraft Designs bridged the gap by hosting the firmware downloads through our editor support board, supplying links whenever a user accidentally bricked their unit. There was definitely a problem - The firmware on the MPK/MPD could be cleared without a replacement having been downloaded. the definitely crap the bed on that one.Hi Lester, I don't even think their site exists anymore, but I may be wrong. Every 6 months or so I check in on the akai site for updates, or that companies. Again, it's been years since I looked at their forums, but most of it was complaints. you had to get in touch with them to get the old firmware from them at the time etc., and good luck with that. They even released firmware updates that hosed peoples mpk series, or at least their website was confusing enough that people were updating firmwares they didn't need, had issues rolling back etc.
Also made a great situation for akai to blame them, and vice versa.
Yeah, they dropped the ball big time, i forget the whole story, but akai outsourced their editor software to that company, I bought an akai mpk61 many years ago, and there has yet to be an update for the horrible software they made.
